In today’s world it is difficult to identify real food. The food market is full of manufactured foods to which we have become so accustomed that we no longer recognize them as manufactured foods. Read the labels on many packaged foods…you will likely find ingredients that you cannot find in your home kitchen. Food preservatives, additives, colour, flavor, broken down modular components of once real foods, chemically altered components of once real foods, salts and acids, etc. Even foods that look untouched – many have been sprayed with approved chemicals or genetically modified for one reason or another changing their original composition to enhance sweetness, standardize size, remove seeds, make resistant, and so on. There is a growing consciousness of the ethics of eating and how our food sources are being grown, changed and produced for consumption. Eating healthy starts with identifying and eating real foods.
